Huh?
I took a cab ride today and was honestly confused by the driver's attempt at a conversation.
Driver: So where do you live?
Me: Oh, I live here in DC.
Driver: Oh really?!
Me: Yes
Driver: I thought you were from California
Me: Nope. I am definitely not from the West Coast.
How do I in the least bit look Californian? I'm slightly disturbed I might be perceived that way. At least when I'm in New York I get stopped on the street for directions, that's encouraging.
